Discover the joy of cooking with the best local ingredients together with our skilled chefs. Our courses are led by renowned chefs, such as Bård Greni and our own Tobias Gabrielsen, and give you insight into both traditional and innovative techniques.

We believe that food is one of the best ways to explore a region, and Varanger has a lot to offer. You will have the opportunity to work with raw materials such as halibut, lamb and reindeer and learn how these can be transformed into tasty dishes.

With us you will discover treasures that are completely unique to the area.

Our courses are suitable for both beginners and advanced learners, and we emphasize an educational and social experience in a very pleasant environment.

The second cooking course of the fall takes place on October 18th and 19th, and our dear Bård Greni is back with us at Varanger Brygge.

Tonight's menu consists of local ingredients such as lamb from Krampenes, salmon from Lerøy, char from Ropelv and reindeer.

Bårdi has put together an absolutely fantastic menu, so here's to enjoying!

  • You will learn how to identify and handle local North Norwegian produce.
  • Learn how to combine flavours and textures to create unforgettable meals.
  • Gain insight into cultural aspects of Northern Norwegian food. We will use dedicated chefs with a passion for sharing Northern Norwegian food heritage. We focus on small group sizes to ensure personalised attention and hands-on learning.

We believe that food is one of the best ways to explore a region, and Finnmark has a lot to offer. From the pure flavours of Arctic shellfish and fish, to the delicate nuances of game meat, local brews, berries and vegetables, you'll discover treasures unique to this area.

Tobias has worked at prestigious restaurants such as Michael's and Stallen in Oslo, Frantzen in Stockholm and is currently a chef at the renowned Stattholdergaarden.

He has also, despite his young age, been on the Norwegian national cooking team for 1 year.

About Bard

Bård Greni is a chef, food presenter, TV celebrity and the man behind "Urban Food".

Bård has a versatile background, both as a head chef for a number of years at Restaurant Solsiden, as a "street chef" in Thailand and Malaysia, a consultant at the Gastronomic Institute, a TV chef, and not least as a food mediator and course leader.

His time on Solsiden made him a seafood expert.
